Going through some old things, I came across this nostalgic item – a passport to preview the plans and concept art for the then brand new Islands of Adventure at Universal Studios Orlando.
It was 1998 and I was around 14 at the time. I was visiting Universal Studios with my family when we were handed these passports and informed about an exhibition at the park. We snapped up the opportunity to check out the exhibition. Hearing about all these new adventures was so exciting for us. We couldn’t wait until the park opened, which it was on our next visit in 2000 (the park opened in 1999). Experiencing a whole brand new park was an amazing feeling. The theming and technology was out of this world.
The passport lists all the planned attractions for each land at the park. The majority of them are still there today.
I wonder, is this item a collectible? I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.
Also, let me know in the comments below if you would be interested in seeing the lists of all the planned attractions for each land of the park.
